01

Specialized Dementia Care

This includes care provided by staff who are specially trained to understand and meet the needs of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This training helps staff to better understand the disease process, communicate effectively with residents, and provide care that is respectful and person-centered.

02

Secure Environment

Many adult care homes have security features in place to help keep residents safe. These features may include fences around the property, alarms on doors and windows, and staff who are trained to supervise residents and prevent them from wandering off.

03

Activities and Therapies

Activities and therapies can help to improve residents’ quality of life by providing them with opportunities to socialize, stay mentally and physically active, and maintain their independence. Some common activities and therapies for people with Alzheimer’s disease include music therapy, art therapy, pet therapy, and physical therapy.
